I was born in 1042 on the island of Öland as son of Johan Hardrada. My present home port is Pereyaslay. During my search for my father, along with my cousin Kjartan Haraldsson, I was wounded and sailed for my native land. Here I mastered the trade of smith. During a good assignment in Aarhus I met Dagmär Òrnvaldsdóttir and took her home to Pereyeslay where we were united before the old gods. After some time ever more traders came to my grounds to refresh themselves; I started to itch to go and travel again. So together with my true companion Eirik I started the trading company of Ulfrun. The group has a shoemaker, a woodcarver, a bone worker, a smith and some warriors for protection. In a short time the group has brought us a lot of profit in many aspects. We will see what the future will bring us. |

I'm born in 1965 and a member of Ulfrun from the beginning. I was occupied with living history since my youth. My mother was very interested in Sanskrit, cuneiform characters and other languages, as well as archaeology, so it was not that hard for me to continue on this path. At home all conditions to tickle my interest were there. Thank you, mum. Most important in my life are my children Joshua and Sanne, and my husband Richard. I like belonging to the group a lot. My strongest asset is early medieval cooking. This means I do also research and experiment with authentic ingredients. Therefore I mainly like performing my hobby on an educational level, for instance on schools. Ulfrun offers me a pleasant way to take distance from a modern society of haste and it gives me a purpose outside my job and family. |

I'm born in 1991 and go along with the group since the beginning. I'm quite 'present', but also very ready to help. I'm good with a bow and try to train with the other members as often as possible. When my mother or one of the other women need my assistance, I will always be ready, for I'm mainly good at chopping wood. |

I was born as the third son in a poor farmer's family in Sweden. As a young man of fifteen I was thrown out to fend for myself. With just a simple woodman's axe for a weapon I applied for a place on a Viking raid as a rower and fighter. Bor Haraldsson, one of the bodyguards and brother of the jarl, laid eyes on me during that trip and took me under his wings during the winter period. That winter I learned that a good warrior has to know a little more than just chopping wood and so next spring I left for another raid under Bor's leadership. During that trip I save my warlord's life. Bor's gratitude was great and the jarl's even greater: they presented me with a chainmail and a helmet for my heroic deeds. Years later and by that time one of Bor's bodyguards, I accompanied him and his retinue to trade near Nowgorod. Here I learned the habits of the Rusvik and made those my own. Nowadays I hire myself out as bodyguard under the leadership of (Scalla) Ryis Johansson. |

My name is Kees, I live in Rotterdam together with my wife Margreet and our son Maarten, and I work as an information analyst at an ICT company. In 1991 I started re-enacting, first high mediaeval, than early mediaeval, and lately I have even been doing some 17th century events. All periods are colourful and interesting, but the early centuries attract me the most, because they still have so much to be discovered.
Apart from a good sword fight and other fun with mediaeval friends, I also like to stick my nose into historical scriptures. My home town Vlaardingen, a very important and exciting place in early mediaeval times, is one of my favourite study subjects.
I am secretary of LPLG (The Netherlands Platfrom for Living History)

I was born around 970 in Vlaardingen in the west of Frisia. I serve count Diederik, who has a castle here, as a warrior. |

My name is Dirk Pil and I am born in Schiedam where I still live and work as a kitchen salesman. I have had a passion for ancient peoples an cultures for a long time. A few years ago I encoutered reenactment. I joined Ulfrun and started training in Eindhoven. Over the years I have acquired a nice collection of books about the early mediaval period, so by now I know quite abit about the period. Feel free to ask me questions when we meet, I don't bite! |

My name is Eirik Ásmundsson and together with Ryis I have started Ulfrun a few years ago. I am a Rusvik, born in Sweden, but I moved to Gardariki as a child. There I grew up together with Ryis and Kjartan Haraldsson. I learned swordplay and went to Byzanyium. I travelled a lot and saw many things. In my travels I have met a great number of people, some of whom are now with us in Ulfrun; they are good fighters, merchants and craftsmen. You can find us everywhere. Why don't you come visit us in our camp? |

I was born and raised in Zuidland. Presently I live somewhere else, looking for adventure. Reenactment is for me the perfect combination of sports, crafts, history and fun.
|
My viking name is Styrbjörn. As a reenactor I assume the persona of a craftsman in the viking age. As a warrior and craftsman I try to gather my own fortune.
